Invisalign® in Denton & Krum, TX - What You Need to Know

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is an orthodontic treatment that straightens and aligns teeth into place without the use of traditional metal braces. The treatment involves a series of personalized transparent aligners that fit over your teeth and gently pull them into the correct position over a period of time.

With Invisalign®, your teeth can be beautiful, as well as comfortably and precisely aligned in half the amount of time as traditional braces.

If you have crooked, gapped, or misaligned teeth and prefer discreet braces as a corrective option, your Denton & Krum, TX orthodontist, Dr. Cramer, will need to consult with you to provide the best solution.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

Invisalign® is a type of aligner that uses clear trays to realign your teeth over time. The trays are made of a BPA-free, flexible plastic that was created solely for Invisalign treatment. The trays are custom-made and fit on the teeth tightly, but comfortably; they are nearly invisible to others. Invisalign® is most often used for adults and teenagers.

Dr. Cramer will develop a digital treatment plan that is unique to you. This digital plan accurately maps the movements of your teeth over time. Based on your plan and smile, your Invisalign® clear aligners will be designed to apply the correct amount of force at the right places and times. Dr. Cramer will be there with you on your smile journey to monitor your progress and make sure your aligners fit properly.

How Often Must Invisalign® Be Worn Throughout the Day?

The trays are worn between 20 to 22 hours per day and can be easily removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. It is vital you wear your aligners for as much of the day as you can in order for your results to be timely.

How Often Will I Visit My Doctor During Invisalign® Treatment?

Throughout your treatment, you can expect to be fitted around every 6 weeks for your series of trays. These aligners will be swapped out every 1 to 2 weeks in order to align your teeth over the period of treatment time required.

Invisalign® can be removed for teeth brushing, flossing, and eating and you’ll receive a new aligner every few weeks to continue moving your teeth into the desired position.

What is Invisalign® Made From?

Invisalign®’s clear aligners are made from a BPA-free, flexible patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack®. This material was created solely for Invisalign treatment and is much more comfortable than traditional metal braces. The trays are made of a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack®.

How Long Does Invisalign® Take To Work?
